Fingerless Gloves Crochet Pattern (Exhdc)
Here we have yet another stunning free crochet pattern for Fingerless Gloves! What better way to keep your hands cozy than a pair of fingerless gloves. Perfect for those cold, yet not so cold days! These Gloves also make the perfect gift, whether for Christmas or as a birthday present.
I enjoyed designing these gloves, but as with all my other patterns came a few challenges. I wanted to create a glove that you can change the colors seamlessly and with that I came to the conclusion of working them flat and then sewing them closed. This way you can change the colors without any hesitation or worry that you will se where the colors are changed.
I also used a new stitch! As you probably know, I really love the half double crochet, and when I saw the Extended Half Double Crochet Stitch I fell in love all over again! Haha..
Let’s dive into the deeds:
Before you start with this detailed crochet fingerless gloves, here are some important things to know and some background around this pattern.
The Detail of the Exhdc Fingerless Gloves Crochet Pattern
This stunning Fingerless Gloves Crochet Pattern consists of basic stitches and also the Extended Half Double Crochet or abbreviated – Exhdc . This is an easy and beginner-friendly crochet pattern, but if you are not familiar with the Extended Half Double Crochet, I did add how to crochet the stitch in the pattern. Also by using the 3rd loop of the half double crochet, this gives the gloves a sort of braided look, which I am just in awh of.
The cuffs of the Fingerless Gloves are crocheted by using the ribbing method. You will see on my previous Fingerless Gloves Crochet Pattern I made the ribbing using the single crochet. With this pattern I used the slip stitch, which gives a slightly tighter cuff. If you are not used to making ribbing with a slip stitch, then you can use the single crochet instead. But as I always say – Practice makes perfect, so give it a try!

Some FAQ and answers:
Can I adjust the size of the Fingerless Gloves crochet pattern?
Yes you can! The size of the gloves depends on the size of the ribbing. So you can make the ribbing the size of your wrist and then continue on to the rest of the pattern. Isn’t that neat?!
What size yarn do I need?
For this pattern I used Himalaya Everyday, 100% Acrylic #4 Worsted weight / Aran yarn in the colors Red and white. You will need at least 100g/ 7oz (250m/ 273yards) of worsted weight yarn. Use the color and yarn you prefer.
You can do so many color variations with this pattern! The possibilities are endless! I went for a Christmas theme, and I think they turned out pretty cute?! What do you think?
If you’re in the USA or any other country, you can used something like Red Heart Super Saver or Bernat Super Value

Special Stitches:
Extended Half Double Crochet:
To start the Exhdc, yarn over and insert hook into the next stitch. Yarn over and pull through the stitch. Yarn over and now, instead of pulling through all 3 loops like a normal hdc, you will only pull through 1 loop (3 Loops on hook). Lastly, yarn over and pull though all 3 loops on hook. Boom! Exhdc!
3rd Loop of the Half double crochet:
When looking at the half double crochet, you will see that in this pattern the 3rd loop is in the front of your work (the side facing you). The loop is located just below the stitch where you would insert your hook for a normal half double crochet.
Gauge:
Gauge is not particularly important for this pattern.
Finished Size:
Width x Length: 4″/10cm x 6,5″/17cm
Notes:
- These gloves are worked flat and then sewn closed at the end.
- Turning chain does not count as a stitch.
- Number of stitches are shown in brackets () after each row.
- To use alternate colors, you can change colors every 2nd row.
- If you find that the slip stitch ribbing is a little too difficult, you can use the single crochet instead to make the ribbing.

Foundation Chain: ch11

Turn your work so you can work on the side of the ribbing.
Continue to work on this side of your work, you will keep working in rows from now on.
